We are regulated in every jurisdiction where we offer our CFD, spread betting, foreign exchange and stockbroking products.
The regulatory environment
Regulatory bodies oversee each company within IG Group, with every jurisdiction having its own requirements. We also work within regulatory and legislative frameworks relating to our technology, the provision of internet services and internet usage.
Regulators have strict rules and laws, and we aim to go beyond what’s expected of us, because that’s what leaders do.
The regulatory environment is ever-changing, but we keep our people updated and provide regular training across all teams to make sure we abide by the regulations. Our dedicated compliance team works hard to align us with laws and regulations in all 19 countries where we operate.

Regulatory capital adequacy
By law, we need to maintain certain capital requirements in all of our jurisdictions. For example, the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which regulates IG Group, IG Markets Limited, IG Index Limited and IG Trading and Investments Limited, imposes a minimum level of regulatory capital adequacy on us and our UK subsidiaries.
We make sure to maintain capital and liquidity well in excess of the minimum requirements at all times, especially in light of continuing global economic uncertainty.
Important information about IG’s UK FCA regulated entities’ capital adequacy and risk assessment and control processes can be found below under 'Additional regulatory disclosures'.
For more information about our risk management, read about our Board Risk Committee and meet its members.
